What our wall panelling service includes

Wall panels change one wall without breaking anything: a TV wall, the wall behind a bed, a dining or entrance wall, a reception in an office. We supply and install them across Hyderabad and do the parts that usually get skipped, like checking the wall for damp, routing wiring before the panel goes on, and finishing edges with proper trims. If you’d rather have a printed finish than a textured one, compare with our wallpaper service, or read our complete wallpaper and wall panels guide for damp checks, materials and design ideas in one place.

Fluted confuses a lot of people. It’s a shape, not a material. Decide the material for the room first, then whether you want flutes. Our PVC vs WPC vs fluted panels guide goes into strength, weight and heat behaviour.

Which wall panel suits which wall

TV wall. WPC fluted or MDF with laminate. These hold screws, look solid and take LED strips in the grooves. Our TV unit design ideas show how panels, storage and lighting fit together on that wall.

Bedroom headboard wall. Fluted WPC or veneered MDF in a warm tone. Keep the panel behind the bed at least as wide as the bed plus side tables, or it looks like a strip.

Bathroom, utility or a wall that sees damp. PVC, after the source of damp is fixed. In Hyderabad, walls shared with bathrooms and outer walls on the monsoon side are the usual suspects.

Home office or media room. Acoustic slat panels on one or two walls cut the echo you hear on video calls in bare, tiled apartments. They don’t block neighbours’ noise; that’s a different job.

Rented flat. Battens leave only screw holes when removed, while adhesive-fixed panels can pull plaster off. If you’re renting, ask us for batten fixing.

TV-wall panelling: plan these before the panels go up

  • A plywood backing at the bracket height, or bolts through to the masonry. Panels alone don’t carry a TV.
  • Conduit for power and HDMI cables, so nothing shows.
  • Socket positions that sit behind the TV, plus one at console height.
  • Space and ventilation for a set-top box or soundbar.

Wall panels or wallpaper: which one for your wall?

Both change a wall in a day, but they solve different problems.

Wall panelsWallpaper
TextureReal depth: flutes, slats, 3D reliefFlat print (some have a light emboss)
Hides uneven wallsYes, when fixed on battensNo; every bump shows through
Damp tolerancePVC handles it; MDF does notPeels on walls that see seepage
Holds a TV or shelvesWith plywood backing, yesNo

If your wall is uneven or you want something you can feel, go with panels. If you want pattern or colour across a large area at a lower spend, wallpaper usually wins.

How we install wall panels

We start with a moisture and level check. If a wall is out of line, panels are fixed on a batten frame (aluminium, WPC or treated wood; on ground floors with termite activity, aluminium or WPC only) so they sit flat. Flat, dry plaster can take panels directly with construction adhesive. Wiring is moved before panelling, cut-outs are made on site, and edges, corners and the ceiling line get trims so nothing looks unfinished. On larger walls, a small expansion gap is left at the edges because panels move slightly with heat.

How long it takes

A single TV wall or headboard wall usually takes a day. A full room or an office reception takes two to four days. If you choose a specific colour or finish that isn’t in stock, add a few days for material to arrive. Wiring changes by an electrician, if needed, come first.

What decides the cost

  • Panel material and thickness: PVC, WPC, MDF, acoustic or 3D
  • Wall area and height
  • Batten frame versus direct fixing
  • Number of cut-outs, trims and edge profiles
  • LED strips, plywood backing for a TV, conduit for hidden wiring

Care for wall panels in Hyderabad homes

Wipe PVC and WPC with a damp cloth and mild soap. Brush dust out of flutes every few weeks; in communities with ongoing construction, it builds up fast. Keep PVC away from heaters, hobs and diya flames, and out of strong direct sun through glass, since rigid PVC is heat-sensitive and can soften or warp. After each monsoon, check panel edges on outer walls for staining or swelling.

How it works

  1. Free home visit with samples We bring PVC, WPC, fluted and acoustic samples, measure the wall and note sockets, switches, windows and any damp patches.
  2. Wall check We check moisture and flatness. Seepage is flagged before work, because panels hide damp but do not cure it.
  3. Layout and quote You approve the panel, joint layout, trims, cut-outs and any LED profile, with a fixed quote.
  4. Frame or adhesive fixing Uneven or older walls get a batten frame; flat, dry plaster can take direct adhesive fixing. Wiring is routed first.
  5. Panels, trims and finishing Panels are cut and fitted, edges finished with trims, sockets refitted and the area cleaned before handover.

Frequently asked questions

Are PVC wall panels strong enough for homes?

PVC wall panels are strong enough for normal home use on walls, but they are lighter and more hollow than WPC or MDF. They resist water and clean easily, which makes them good for bathrooms, utility areas and damp-prone walls. Their weakness is impact: a sharp knock from furniture or a toy can dent thinner PVC. They also cannot carry heavy loads like a TV on their own; that needs a plywood or bracket backing behind the panel.

How are PVC wall panels installed?

PVC wall panels are installed either on a batten frame or with adhesive directly on the wall. On uneven or older walls, battens are screwed to the wall first so the panels sit straight. On flat, dry plaster, panels can be fixed with construction adhesive. Panels interlock or clip together, edges are finished with trims, and switch and socket cut-outs are made on site. The wall must be checked for seepage first, because sealing in damp leads to mould behind the panels.

Should I choose PVC, WPC or fluted wall panels?

Choose PVC for damp-prone walls, bathrooms, utility areas and tight budgets, since it is waterproof and light. Choose WPC (wood-plastic composite) for TV walls and bedroom feature walls, because it is denser, holds screws better and looks more like timber. Fluted is a grooved profile rather than a material, available in PVC, WPC or MDF, so first pick the material for the room, then decide whether you want flutes. Our PVC vs WPC vs fluted guide compares them in detail.

Can wall panels solve damp or seepage on a wall?

No, wall panels do not solve damp. They can hide stains, but if water keeps coming through the wall, it gets trapped behind the panel and causes mould, smell and peeling paint around the edges. In Hyderabad, external walls and walls shared with bathrooms often show seepage during the June to September monsoon. Fix the source first, with waterproofing or plumbing repairs, let the wall dry, and then install PVC panels if the area may still see some moisture.

Can a TV be mounted on fluted or WPC wall panels?

A TV can be mounted on a fluted or WPC panel wall only if the mount is fixed into something solid. Panels alone are not designed to carry a television. We fix a plywood backing at TV height, or run the bracket bolts through to the masonry, before the panels go on. Power and HDMI cables run in conduit behind the panel, and sockets are placed where the TV will hide them. Tell us your TV size and bracket type at the visit.

Do acoustic wall panels soundproof a room?

Acoustic wall panels reduce echo inside a room; they do not soundproof it. PET felt panels and wooden slat panels on felt backing absorb reflected sound, so a home office sounds less hollow on video calls and a media room sounds clearer. They will not stop a neighbour's music or traffic noise, which needs mass, sealed gaps and specialised wall build-ups. If your goal is better call quality or clearer speech, acoustic panels on one or two walls make a noticeable difference.

What decides the cost of wall panelling in Hyderabad?

Wall panelling cost in Hyderabad depends on the panel material (PVC, WPC, MDF, acoustic or 3D), thickness and finish, the wall area, whether a batten frame is needed for an uneven wall, the number of cut-outs for switches and sockets, trims and edge profiles, LED strips in flutes, and extra work such as plywood backing for a TV or conduit for hidden wiring. Baaft Decor gives a fixed quote after a free home visit, once the wall has been checked.

How do I clean and maintain wall panels?

Wipe PVC and WPC wall panels with a soft damp cloth and mild soap; avoid solvents and abrasive scrubbers, which dull printed and laminated surfaces. Fluted panels collect dust in the grooves, especially in Hyderabad homes near construction, so run a soft brush or vacuum brush along the flutes every few weeks. Acoustic felt panels only need light vacuuming. Keep PVC away from direct heat sources, and check edges after each monsoon for any sign of moisture behind the panel.
